Cathy Probst has been doing crafts and decorative painting for 10 years. She has been a resident of Crossville, Tennessee for 15 years.
What started out as a way to give gifts with a personal touch to friends and family soon blossomed into a small business with a wide variety of hand painted items.  She is a self-taught artist and has painted on many surfaces such as glassware, tin, old windows, accent furniture pieces, milk cans and especially gourds.

"My biggest joy and my staple is painting gourd birdhouses. I love hearing people ooh and ahh when they see them! I really love my customers and enjoy doing craft shows to meet people."

Among themes on gourds are military, sports teams, barns, characters with clay added and especially birds and flowers.
Her one and only employee is her husband, Dow, who helps her with anything needed. He does a lot of the 'dirty' work such as cleaning the gourds. He is at all of her shows to lend support.
Cathy gives out a gourd care sheet and guarantees all her work.
Cathy's outstanding creativity made her the craft show winner at the National Cornbread Festival in 2016.
